Pollination Pathway Fall Stewardship Series: Adapting the Pathway at Beaver Creek Provincial Park

  • Beaver Creek Provincial Park Beaver Creek Park Road BC, V1R 4W6 Canada (map)

Lead organization: Kootenay Native Plant Society

oin the Kootenay Native Plant Society for a hands-on stewardship day at the Monarch Waystation Learning Garden in Beaver Creek Provincial Park! As part of our Pollination Pathway series and in celebration of BC Rivers Day, we will "put the plants to bed" for the winter.

Volunteers will learn about the challenges of managing a dynamic riverside ecosystem by focusing on the removal of invasive yarrow and conducting in-fill planting with native species. This crucial work ensures the pathway remains a healthy, balanced, and vibrant habitat for monarch butterflies and other essential pollinators.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get your hands dirty, learn about native plant care, and help restore a beautiful park. All plant-curious folks are welcome! Please come prepared for the weather and bring a lunch, water, and gloves if you have them.
