Individual membership is for people who care about outdoor recreation and want to support stronger access, stewardship, planning and public investment across the province.

Individual membership: $50 per year
Youth membership: $20 per year

Who can join?

Individual membership is open to anyone who supports ORCBC’s work and wants to be part of British Columbia’s outdoor recreation community.

You do not need to belong to a recreation organization or participate in a particular activity. Our members include people who hike, paddle, ride, climb, ski, camp, fish, volunteer, maintain trails, watch birds or simply value time outdoors.

Youth membership is available to people aged 25 and under.

ORCBC works to strengthen outdoor recreation across British Columbia by:

  • Advocating for better access, planning and public investment.

  • Bringing organizations and partners together to address shared challenges.

  • Providing research, tools, funding and practical support to help local ideas move forward.

  • Promoting responsible recreation, stewardship and inclusion.

  • Demonstrating how outdoor recreation contributes to health, quality of life, local economies and resilient communities.

What your membership includes

As an individual member, you will:

  • Add your voice to ORCBC’s advocacy for improved access, stewardship, planning and public investment.

  • Receive quarterly updates on important outdoor recreation issues and ORCBC’s work.

  • Learn about events, webinars, consultations and opportunities to get involved.

  • Receive responsible recreation information and practical resources.

  • Hear about outdoor recreation jobs, projects and initiatives from across British Columbia.

  • Receive invitations to selected ORCBC activities.

  • Receive an ORCBC membership decal.

  • Receive reduced rates for ORCBC conferences.

  • Receive notice of and be welcome to attend ORCBC general meetings.

Individual members do not have voting rights.

Why your membership matters

ORCBC brings together outdoor recreation organizations, communities and individuals from across British Columbia.

Your membership helps strengthen ORCBC’s provincial voice and supports our work to improve access, encourage stewardship, advance better planning and investment, and ensure outdoor recreation is considered in decisions affecting public lands and communities.

It also helps us represent a broader and more connected outdoor recreation community.

Membership details

Memberships run from April 1 to March 31 and renew annually on April 1. You may cancel your renewal at any time.

Prorated rates are available upon request for people joining partway through the membership year. Please contact us before purchasing if you would like a prorated rate.

Membership fees are not charitable donations, and tax receipts are not issued for the membership portion of your payment. A tax receipt will be issued for any eligible additional donation made when purchasing your membership.
