ORCBC has long welcomed individuals as Supporting Members. We are now making this membership option more visible and providing an easier way for outdoor enthusiasts across B.C. to join, support our work and stay connected.
ORCBC works to strengthen outdoor recreation by:
Advocating for better access, planning and public investment.
Bringing organizations and partners together to address shared challenges.
Providing research, tools, funding and practical support to help move local ideas forward.
Promoting responsible recreation, stewardship and inclusion.
Demonstrating how outdoor recreation contributes to health, quality of life, local economies and resilient communities.

Who is Supporting Membership for?
Supporting Membership is for individuals who care about outdoor recreation in British Columbia and want to help advance ORCBC’s work.
You do not need to belong to an outdoor recreation organization or participate in a particular activity. Whether you hike, paddle, ride, climb, ski, camp or simply value access to the outdoors, you are welcome to join.
What are the membership options?
Individual Supporting Member: $50
Youth Supporting Member: $20
The youth rate is available to people aged 25 and younger.
How long does a membership last for?
ORCBC’s membership year runs from April 1 to March 31.
The online membership fee is currently set at the full annual rate. If you are joining partway through the year and would like your fee prorated, please contact us before purchasing.

Supporting Members receive:
Quarterly updates about ORCBC’s work, advocacy and impact.
Information about important outdoor recreation issues and opportunities to participate in consultations.
Resources and practical guidance on responsible outdoor recreation.
Information from across the outdoor recreation community, including events, employment opportunities and member projects.
Invitations to selected ORCBC webinars, events and engagement opportunities.
Notice of and the opportunity to attend ORCBC general meetings.
The opportunity to support a stronger and more connected outdoor recreation sector in B.C.
Supporting Members may attend general meetings but do not have voting rights.

Provincial Organization Member | $192/year
A not-for-profit society incorporated in British Columbia considered by the ORCBC Board of Directors to be most closely identified with the interests of organized individual participants throughout British Columbia in the field of outdoor recreation represented by the society. To qualify as a Provincial Organization Member, the organization must also be an umbrella organization representing the interests of two or more affiliated outdoor recreation clubs in addition to itself. Each Provincial Organization Member is entitled to receive notice of, attend and to vote on all matters at general meetings of the Council.

Regional Organization Member | $96/year
A federal or provincial non-profit society, recreation group, or local government organization in British Columbia that has an interest in outdoor recreation and is not eligible to be a Provincial Organization Member. Each Regional Organization Member is entitled to receive notice of, attend and to vote at all general meetings of the Council on all matters except the election of directors and amendments to bylaws.

Individual Member | $50/year
If you subscribe to our purposes and are interested in furthering those purposes with us, consider becoming an Individual Supporting Member. Each Individual Member is entitled to receive notice of, attend, and vote at all general meetings of the Council on all matters except the election of directors and amendments to bylaws.
