Impact Measurement Pilot Project

ORCBC is piloting a project to measure the impact of the non-profit outdoor recreation sector in BC. The pilot measures key indicators that capture the sector’s contributions to infrastructure, environmental stewardship, volunteerism, engagement, organizational capacity, collaborations, reconciliation and inclusion.

Why

By gathering consistent, credible data across organizations, we will be better positioned to:

  • Demonstrate the collective impact of outdoor recreation on community wellbeing, volunteerism, public health, and local economies

  • Strengthen our case for investment and policy support with government and funders

  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to better support member organizations

  • Tell a stronger, evidence-based story about the value of the work happening across the province

Who

Invited organizations will submit metrics along a list of key performance indicators (KPIs). For the pilot, invitations will be extended to ORCBC members and affiliates of provincial member organizations.

When

Data collection will occur in the months of April and May 2026. Results will be shared in July.

How it Works

If you have been invited to submit your metrics, please review the KPI Reporting Guide <add link> to preview the KPIs, their purpose, and examples. When you are ready, please have one person from your organization enter the metrics in the reporting form below. All KPIs are optional. Please report as many as you can.
