Outdoor recreation is a defining part of life in British Columbia. It supports our health, strengthens communities, and fuels local economies. But increased visitation, aging infrastructure, climate impacts, and limited support for volunteer groups are putting BC’s outdoor spaces under greater pressure than ever.

ORCBC works at the provincial level to meet these challenges head-on.

As we mark our 50th anniversary in spring 2026, we are launching the $50,000 for 50 Years campaign. This campaign is rooted in the belief that when communities come together, we can create abundance: strong networks and communities, healthier landscapes, and shared benefits that grow over time.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 by December 2026 to strengthen stewardship, support volunteers, and protect the future of outdoor recreation across BC.

Your donation is an act of reciprocity, helping care for the outdoor places and community groups that sustain outdoor recreation across BC.

What Your Donation Supports

Community stewardship

Supporting local groups as they care for high-use trails, waterways, and sensitive environments.

Advocacy

Improving coordination between recreation clubs, Indigenous partners, and land managers, and advancing policies that support safe, sustainable access.

Responsible recreation education

Helping the public understand how to recreate safely and responsibly in outdoor and backcountry spaces.

Volunteer development

Providing practical tools, training, and resources to volunteers, youth, and emerging leaders across BC.

Stronger networks

Bringing together paddlers, hikers, mountain bikers, anglers, equestrians, climbers, sledders, and more to align on shared priorities and strengthen the collective voice of outdoor recreation.

Campaign Goal: $50,000 by DECEMBER 2026
