Every year on BC Rivers Day the Elk River Alliance hosts a valley-wide clean up to keep trash out of the watershed. Last year's clean up removed 11,261 pieces of trash from the local environment! A booth will be set up in Fernie, Sparwood, and Elkford with clean up supplies as well as snacks and cold drinks for volunteers. We'll be there from 10am-2pm (MDT), attendees can join anytime within that window. Bring your own gloves if you have them but we will have extras. Come out with your friends and family or meet your fellow community members while helping to keep our river clean!
