Get ready for BC Trails Day: Funding available
BC Trails Day is back, and it’s shaping up to be another inspiring, community-driven celebration of the trails and how they connect us.
Taking place on Saturday, June 6, the sixth annual BC Trails Day invites communities across British Columbia to come together to care for trails, promote responsible recreation, and help more people connect with the outdoors.
A Province-Wide Celebration of Trails and Community
Every year, recreation clubs, local governments, and grassroots groups organize events that bring people outdoors and make a tangible difference. From trail building and cleanups to guided hikes, paddles, bike rides, and educational workshops, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved.
Last year alone, 59 events took place across BC, demonstrating the growing momentum behind this province-wide initiative.
Whether your focus is stewardship, education, or simply bringing people together outside, BC Trails Day is an opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening in communities across the province.
Funding Available: Apply for a Micro-Grant
To support event organizers, the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC is once again offering BC Trails Day micro-grants.
These grants, up to $300 per event, are designed to help offset the costs of hosting trail-related activities. Funding can be used for:
Tools and supplies
Equipment rentals
Event materials
Other essential costs
Eligible applicants include outdoor recreation groups, youth organizations, municipalities, and Indigenous communities.
The application deadline is April 30. Successful applicants will be announced on May 7.
Note: You must register your event to be eligible for funding.
