Squamish Rivers Day Planting!

  • End of Training Berm along Spit Rd. Skwelwil'em Squamish Estuary Wildlife Management Squamish Canada (map)

Lead organization: Squamish River Watershed Society

The Squamish River Watershed Society will be hosting a sedge planting for their annual Squamish Rivers Day in the Skwelwil'em Squamish Estuary Wildlife Management Area. We will be planting Lynbye’s sedges to help restore sedge marsh in the estuary. The planting will take place where a section of the training berm was removed in 2023 to help improve water and fish passage in the central estuary.

Join us in honouring and celebrating our rivers and watershed, bringing our mountains and forests to the sea. Everyone is welcome to join! No registration is required. All necessary tools and gloves will be supplied. Come prepared for the weather, we will plant rain or shine!
