Lead organization: Lower Mainland Green Team
Celebrate World Rivers Day with the Lower Mainland Green Team & City of Burnaby.
Did you know that stormwater often drains unfiltered directly into our creeks, streams, rivers, and oceans? Cigarette butts, food wrappers, plastics, cups, cans, and more can all be washed down these drains when it rains, ending up far from where they were dropped and polluting these vital habitats and salmon-spawning areas!
Can YOU help us on our campaign to tackle trash and prevent litter from ending up in our beautiful BC Rivers!? This will be our final cleanup of 2025, where we're aiming to break 1,500 pounds of litter cleaned up in Burnaby in total this year!
JOIN the Lower Mainland Green Team and City of Burnaby on Sat Sept. 20 from 9am-12:15pm at the Cameron Elementary School for our FINAL summer community litter cleanup of the year!
Registration Required! All ages, abilities, & experience levels are welcome, bring your family & friends! It's a great opportunity to meet people, make a difference & have fun outdoors!
