Celebrate Rivers Day with us on Sunday, September 27, at Heywood Park (1633 Mackay Avenue) near the picnic shelter. This will be an exciting day of fun, learning, and community spirit. This free, family-friendly event features hands-on activities that celebrate the importance of healthy rivers and thriving local ecosystems. Whether you are helping to protect our waterways, or enjoying fun activities with friends and neighbors, it is a day full of discovery and action.

Event Highlights:
• Volunteer with City Park Stewards: Help remove invasive plants and restore native habitat
• Kids Activities: Make your own crown with invasive plants, blow bubbles, and get creative with chalk art.
• Bike Repair Café: Get a free tune-up from experienced mechanics from Our Community Bikes.
• Live Music
• Free plant giveaway
• Interactive booths: Connect with local groups including Native Bee Society of BC, NorthShore Black Bear Society, Metro Vancouver Watershed Team, Regenerate BC, City Fire Department and others.

Registration is required to participate in the invasive plant pull.
