Lead organization: Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society
Join Us for BC Rivers Day: Cottonwood Creek Cleanup!
For the second year in a row, Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society (FoKLSS), in partnership with Living Lakes Canada (LLC), is excited to host a community stream cleanup along Cottonwood Creek as part of the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC’s province-wide BC Rivers Day celebrations.
In support of LLC’s Cottonwood Creek Revival Project, this event brings the community together to care for one of Nelson’s most iconic creeks. We’ll provide some supplies (including buckets, trash pickers, gloves, and bags), but quantities are limited, so please bring your own if you can!
Light snacks and refreshments will be available, and FoKLSS swag will be on hand for purchase by donation.
Meeting Point: Cottonwood Falls Park parking lot.
Families and kids are welcome! Please respond to our Facebook event to let us know you’re coming- drop-ins are also encouraged.
To save time on the day, we recommend signing our online waiver beforehand:
