"Solutions for the Sea and Soil" Join Take a Stand: Youth for Conservation with a screening of STAND film, a beautiful and moving documentary about ongoing efforts to save BC’s iconic Great Bear Rainforest and Sea from fossil fuel tankers and pipeline development. In celebration of Culture Days, take action to protect our spectacular coastal ecosystems and communities via an art-based Innovation Challenge contest. After a short intermission there will be a presentation about how the film connects the land and sea and how community members can get involved with local initiatives in Qualicum Beach to conserve and regenerate our environment.
* The first 75 people to register for this event will be given a native berry bush from Streamside Native Plants, funded by the Ocean Wise Ocean Action Grant.
Special performance by the Sidewalk Cellist featuring songs from her Orca Tour and Album Pacific Rain.
All ages are invited to attend, conservation groups, students, home learners, youth, families, adults, seniors, educators, and those who care about our natural environment and wish to practice better climate care.
