The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC (ORCBC) and College of the Rockies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support workforce development and strengthen British Columbia’s outdoor recreation sector.

This three-year partnership focuses on connecting education and training with the needs of communities, recreation groups, and industry partners. It brings together College of the Rockies’ expertise in outdoor education with ORCBC’s provincial perspective and network.

Through the MOU, the organizations will explore opportunities in applied learning, research, student placements, and the development of training, tools, and resources to support the sector.

Outdoor recreation plays an important role in supporting healthy communities and local economies across B.C. This collaboration aims to build capacity, support sustainable recreation, and help prepare the next generation of leaders.
