Lead organization: Kumsheen Rafting Resort

The Thompson Whitewater Weekend is a partnership between the Vancouver Whitewater Club (VWC) and Kumsheen Rafting Resort for WORLD RIVERS DAY in celebration with OREC. This is our third annual event!

The event is open to all skill levels with discounted rafting and accommodation, encouraging members to bring non-kayaking friends and family to learn about and enjoy the Thompson River. The weekend includes rafting on the Thompson, full access to the pool, hot tub and resort activities along with a Saturday Night BBQ hosted by VWC. We work to match the theme and give back to our community in cleanup during our trips and knowledge of the surrounding areas.

This event runs all weekend with the option to hit the river every single day with your people but the main event date is Saturday September 26 2026. (Guests leaving Sunday PM after cleanup)

The amount guests will pay for the event will fluctuate depending on what they want to book. Camping includes shuttle and everything on the resort which is $12.00 a night and the bbq with VWC is $15.00 per person. If they want to book rafting or a canvas cabin/teepee then their reservation could cost more but the initial offering is kept low for guests.

Friday September 25 - Check-in and overnight
Saturday September 26 - rafting, kayaking, breakfast, shuttling, bbq and music
Sunday September 27 - Breakfast, additional river time, cleanup
