Lead organization: Sea to Sky Invasive Species Council
We’ll begin by removing invasive species, including yellow lamium, English holly, butterfly bush, and common burdock. These species threaten local biodiversity by outcompeting native plants, but with your help, we can make a difference!
No experience is necessary—we’ll provide guidance on plant identification and removal techniques.
Following the weed pull, we’ll focus on restoration. We’ll mulch the areas where we removed lamium and butterfly bush to prevent these species from growing back. We will also be replanting native species in areas of bare soil along the Little Stawamus River. This event is planned in collaboration with the District of Squamish
