AllTrails helps millions of people find and explore trails around the world. For land managers, trail organizations and recreation partners, its greatest potential may be in the data it can provide to support better decisions on the ground.
Join ORCBC for a webinar with John Ribes, Impact Program Manager at AllTrails, for a practical look at how AllTrails data and technology can be combined with local knowledge to support more resilient trail systems, improve resource allocation, and strengthen long-term tourism and stewardship efforts.
John leads the development of the AllTrails Public Lands Program, working directly with agencies and non-profit organizations to help them use technology to support safe and sustainable recreation. He brings 15 years of experience in the outdoor sector, including work as a guide, land manager and educator.
In this session, John will discuss how AllTrails shares data insights from more than 90 million users, including trail use patterns and community feedback, to help land managers and trail organizations better understand what is happening on their trails.
You’ll learn how AllTrails data can help:
Improve maintenance planning, safety alerts and resource management without adding unnecessary administrative burden
Provide insight into trail user behaviour and emerging pressure points
Support targeted education and stewardship campaigns that connect with local communities
Build partnerships where data sharing helps protect trails, maintain safe access and advance environmental goals
