Lead organization: Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association and Fraser Valley Invasive Species Society
The Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association (FVMBA) and the Fraser Valley Invasive Species Society (FVISS) are joining forces for an invasive species removal on Bear Mountain on June 6 as part of BC Trails Day. This event is free and open to anyone! The goal is to remove holly and other identified invasive species from the trail BTLC on Bear Mountain to allow native species to grow and flourish.
We want to bring together all trail users for this important trail work. Whether you are a hiker, trail runner, mountain biker or dog walker, come out and lend a hand and learn more about invasive species from the FVISS.
Start time: 9am
End time: 12pm
Meeting location: Mill Pond Parking Lot
What to bring: water, gloves, shoes to hike in and clothes that can get dirty
Coffee and treats will be provided at the beginning of the day; lunch will be provided at noon.
We will be providing all of the tools. No experience is necessary! We will be guiding you on what to remove and how to remove it.
