The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC’s (ORCBC) 2025 Annual General Meeting was held virtually on June 5, 2025, bringing together member organizations and outdoor enthusiasts from across the province to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the next.

As our Board of Directors transitions for the new term, we’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our departing board members:

  • Byron Spinks, New Pathways to Gold Society

  • Amanda L’Heureux, BC Snowmobile Federation

  • Ken McClelland, BC Off-Road Motorcycle Association

Your dedication and leadership have been deeply appreciated. Thank you for your contributions to outdoor recreation across British Columbia.

In their place, we are pleased to welcome three new directors to the Board:

  • Rocky Nenka, New Pathways to Gold Society

  • Doug Brackett, BC Snowmobile Federation

  • Aviva Fialkow, Mountain Biking BC — who has also been elected as ORCBC’s new Secretary

We’re excited to work alongside this skilled and passionate group of individuals. You can learn more about the current ORCBC team on our About Us page.

As ORCBC Chair, Eric Vanderkruk shared:

“The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC wrapped up another busy and productive year with the AGM on June 4. Though we reviewed the past year’s accomplishments, the real focus was on the future! With eight strong candidates vying for six seats, I’m pleased to welcome our three new board members—Aviva Fialkow, Doug Brackett, and Rocky Nenka—and to see Dave Wharton, Ken Matthews, and Rod Clapton return for another term. I look forward to an even more active year ahead, and I encourage everyone to mark their calendars for ORCBC’s 50-year Anniversary Conference, May 20–22, 2026, at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.”

As we continue to build momentum and gear up to celebrate our 50th Anniversary, this year promises great things for our community.

As always, thank you to our member organizations, volunteers, and supporters for being part of this growing and committed community. Here’s to another strong year of collaboration in support of responsible outdoor recreation across BC.

Thank you,

The ORCBC Team
