5th annual BC Trails Day recap

The 2025 BC Trails Day Report is out, capturing the energy, impact, and stories from the 5th annual celebration held on June 7, 2025.

More than 60 events popped up in 48 communities across BC, from Port Hardy and Fernie to Tumbler Ridge, Pemberton, and Bella Bella. Recreation clubs and community groups brought together over 4,300 people for trail work, group hikes and rides, gear swaps, cleanups, workshops, barbecues, and plenty more.

Local groups led hikes, cleanups, workshops, gear swaps, and more, showing the power of community in caring for BC’s trails.

2025 highlights

  • 59 community and recreation groups hosted events

  • 12 micro-grants awarded, totalling $3,400

  • $10,000+ raised for the Buck for BC Trails campaign

  • 21,000+ people reached via social media

  • 100+ posts shared using #BCTrailsDay

  • 2 province-wide contests with prizes from Nonny Beers, Shapeshifters, and author Stephen Hui

Micro-grants in action

Funding supported tools, signage, materials, native plants, clean-up fees, and volunteer support across 12 recipient groups, including the Fernie Trails Alliance, Four Wheel Drive Association of BC, Lillooet Off-Road Cycling Association, Friends of Garibaldi Park Society, and others.
