Legal and Fundraising Advice for ORCBC Members
To better support the resilience and effectiveness of volunteer-led outdoor recreation organizations across British Columbia, ORCBC launches a member-exclusive pilot program offering targeted, on-demand professional support. Eligible member organizations have free access to up to 30 minutes of legal support and 20 minutes of fundraising consulting, up to three times per year per member organization, delivered by vetted professionals engaged by ORCBC.
Support includes:
Legal advice related to contract law, property law, Aboriginal law, risk management, legislative interpretation, employee/volunteer management, and non-profit governance.
Fundraising consulting on topics such as grant writing and sponsorship development.
Join our October Member Roundtable on Oct. 9 for an introduction to the program and Q&A with our advisors.
How it Works
Legal advice
Send your request directly to ORCBC’s lawyer. Depending on the complexity of your request, they will either send a response via email or set up a call.
Fundraising consulting:
Book a 20-minute consultation directly with ORCBC’s fundraising consultant. You will be asked to answer a set of questions to describe the background of your request.
Please note: We understand that plans can change and ask that you cancel or reschedule your call at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so results in a no-show fee of $50. This ensures that ORCBC can recover a portion of the costs incurred for no-shows.
