Jackpine Wetland Interpretive Trail Kickoff for BC Trails Day

The Jackpine Trail Wetland Interpretive Trail Kickoff for BC Trails Day will be the first interpretive event at the newly created Jackpine Wetland Interpretive Trail. Organizers from the Lakelse Watershed Stewards Society will be guiding a forested walk showcasing local biodiversity along the 500m gravel trail to a scenic lookout over the Jackpine Wetland. All ages are welcome to join and learn about this remarkable ecosystem. All you need is to be dressed for the weather, a water bottle, and an enthusiasm for nature! The unique vegetation, amphibian, invertebrate and bird species will be observed along the trail in addition to participants getting a closer look at fish species set up in tanks. The purpose of this event is to present the Jackpine Wetland Interpretive Trail to the public while bringing awareness to the importance of wetland ecosystems.

Location: Jackpine Wetland Interpretive Trail. The parking lot is at approximately 190 Old Lakelse Lake Drive.
