Invader or Friend with NatureKids BC

  • Shirley's Walk Parking Lot Mcneelys Way Delta, BC Canada (map)

Join us as we celebrate BC Trails Day with a family-friendly adventure at beautiful Ladner Harbour Park!

We’ll start with a gentle walk through forest and meadow trails, where we’ll learn to spot the difference between some invasive and native plants through a fun game. Along the way, you’ll get to be nature detectives—searching for “plant invaders” like ivy and lamium, and meeting some local plant heroes like salmonberry and lady fern.

We’ll also take time to give back to the park with a short invasive plant pull to help keep the forest healthy.

This event is perfect for families with young children who enjoy being outdoors, exploring nature, and working together to protect our local green spaces. The trails are flat and there are bathrooms in the park.

Bring a water bottle, weather-appropriate clothes, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and gardening gloves if you have them.

Event Location: Meet at the parking lot at Shirley's Walk on Mcneeley's Way just past the Harbourview Bridge in Ladner

Start Time: 1:00 PM End Time: 3:00 PM
