Logan Lake ATV Club Celebrates BC Trails Day in "Bedrock City"

  • Tunkwa Provincial Park Logan Lake V0K 1W0 (map)

This year our club will celebrate and share the wonders of the valley where we recreate. We have the largest open pit copper mine in Canada with the valley and mountains providing many opportunities for rock hounding.

Being an ATV club, our event will involve guided rides .... where participants can collect fossils and agates. We will have a speaker from the local rock club attend to share some knowledge and everyone will get a geode to either cut or crack open.

Our "dress for dinner" theme will include Fred, Wilma and the gang. The meal will be BBQ Brontosaurus Ribs, Roasted Dinosaur eggs and leafy vegetation.

We will also raise the Canadian Flag at our club project -the restoration of the Historic Greenstone Mountain Fire Lookout - which sits atop a large very interesting rock bluff.

As in previous years, this will be a campout with day trippers as well. This is open to the public.

Location: Leighton Lake Camp Ground in Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park near Logan Lake
